Jerry turned 66 this year on January 29th. I planned a small dinner party with friends, Randy and Stef; Debbie and Stig; and of course, Mike, Dawn, Jake and Zack. Jake and Zack had come over during the day and decorated the house with a "Happy Birthday" banner and left Jerry some hand made Birthday Cards. Jerry was surprised when he walked in and saw everything. Unfortunately, Jerry wasn't feeling very well. I asked him if he felt up to having everyone over and he said he was. By the end of the evening Jerry was feeling pretty poor and everyone who was left decided it was time to go. I felt so bad for Jerry because he really couldn't even enjoy his celebration. A few days later, Jerry told me he couldn't even remember who gave him what and asked me to remind him so he could send Thank You cards.

Davenport Property in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho
We just heard from our realtor in CDA, ID. He notified us that the buyer who made the first offer on this home Jerry and I made a second offer on, in September, has backed out of the escrow. You may recall the 1st offer had a contingency on it to sell their house. We came in with a 2nd cash offer but, the 1st buyer had 72 hours to take the contingency away... which they did. After that the seller discovered that his realtor had written something in the escrow instructions keeping escrow going until March, 08. Even though the sellers weren't happy to find that out, it was okay because they weren't planning to start building their new home until after winter anyway. I have been keeping in close contact with our CDA realtor to stay on top of the situation, I didn't think I wouldn't know anything until March. At this time, I don't know what the sellers are planning. But, we became friends with the sellers and they have our home phone number so I am sure they will probably be contacting us when they decide what their plans are. Until then... I'll just just continue praying that everything will work out for the best.

Two Planes Collide in Mid Air over Corona, CA
The mid air collision happened yesterday, 01/20/08, off of Auto Center Drive and Wardlow Rd. in Corona, CA. The map shows you approximately where the accident occurred. Since the plane crash, the street is blocked off and you are not able to turn left from Auto Center drive to Victor Buick 2525 Wardlow which is the command post for the accident. Coming to work every day, I turn right to arrive at my office, 2455 Wardlow Rd Corona, CA (which is the building in the picture on the right side). Of course there are a swarms of people, news reporters, news cameras, news vehicles etc. around. Inside our building we have been hearing the helicopters overhead, all morning long.
Investigators from the NTSB are trying to figure out why a Cessna 172 and a Cessna 150 collided in mid-air about a mile south of the Corona Municipal Airport in California on Sunday, killing the pilot and passenger of each aircraft plus one person on the ground. According to the Associated Press, the Riverside County Coroner's Office identified the dead as Scott Gayle Lawrence, 55, of Cerritos; Paul Luther Carlson, 73, also of Cerritos; Brandon William Johnson, 24, of Costa Mesa; Anthony Joel Guzman, 20, of Hesperia; and Earl Smiddy, 58, of Moreno Valley. Smiddy was reportedly crushed inside a car dealership when one of the aircraft pierced the building's roof.

Hospital Visit - 12 JANUARY 2008
This month, after Jerry's oncology appointment Jerry was having a lot of difficulty with abdomen pain, diarrhea, as well as, lower back (maybe colon) pain. After having a bad Thursday night, he stayed home from work on Friday. Anything he tries to eat goes right through him he is feeling very week, along with the pain and discomfort he is experiencing. On Saturday morning Jerry woke me up early to take him to the ER emergency room. After being there for several hours he was released with a prescription. Because of all the recent antibiotics, for sinus, colitus etc. Jerry has lost all his good bacteria, in his system. The prescription is to help him build back up some of the good bacteria. Along with the prescription he is drinking Acidophiles milk, lots of yogurt products, eating bananas and cream of wheat... and of course chicken soup and jello to try and help his system.

Oncology Appointment - 2008 January 09
Happy New Year 2008. It's hard to believe that in December, 1999 is when Jerry's physician first determined that Jerry's prostate was enlarged... and soon after that he was diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer (Advanced meaning that it was already advanced and was not recommended that the prostate be removed, but he immediately go on Hormone Therapy... and he's been treated ever since. I am so blessed and thankful that Jerry has been able to endure this cancerous disease going on 9 years.
Jerry went today for his monthly (routine) treatment. His appointment in Century City was at 2:00pm and he did not return home until approximately 8:30pm. I could tell that he wasn't feeling well, at all. His coloring was white as a ghost and he seemed lethargic. After taking his nightly medication and shots we prepared for bed. Jerry woke up several times during the night with bouts of diarrhea. Jerry has been experiencing approximately two weeks of constant diarrhea. Jerry's physician is suspicious about Jerry having colitis from so much diarrhea. BTW... for those who may not know, Jerry's mother died of colon cancer. Jerry's physician has prescribed a medication for colitis, but Jerry needs to submit a stool sample prior to starting the medication to determine if there is colitis or not.
