March 31st and Our bunny boys
Jerry and I got the opportunity to babysit the boys on Saturday. Jake helped Jerry, in the backyard, trimming the fruit trees. Jerry would climb on the latter, throw the trimming to the ground and Jake would cut the trimmings down and throw them in the recycle bin. Zack always starts off by putting in a DVD... but, never sits down to watch it. Zack took the branch hammer that Jerry made for Jake and was pounding a rat??? Don't know what that means. Zack was also dragging the small rake over the grass and was running around the back yard. Once the fruit trees were trimmed, Jerry was in the garden (kids call it the jungle) Jerry was trimming another bush and throwing the trimmings to Jake to catch. Zack tried to catch a few, but most of them ended up hitting him. Jake wanted to dig in the ground, but couldn't find a place to dig away from the bees buzzing around the fruit trees. So I gave Jake a weeding tool and we did a little weeding. Jake would put the tool deep in the dirt and push down on the weeding tool. The weed along with a bunch of dirt would fly up and occassionally hit me in the face Woops!!! "Sorry Karen". Once the kids started getting bored of the yard work, Jake asked if they could paint. We got out the wood, paint, stickers and other supplies and they worked on their projects. Zack painted his board a bright green and found panda bear stickers to stick on. Jake painted two boards, 1 red with american flags etc. (for his mom) and the other board he painted and stuck army stickers on. Once the paint and stickers were applied we decopaged the boards. Zack did a little coloring on paper and both boys wanted chocolate milk. Jerry poured Zack's chocolate milk into a small container with a twist on lid... he thought that was great!!! and wanted to take the container home. As usual, we had so much fun with the boys. They are certainly a blessing to both of us.
Oncologist Appointment
This months appointment went routinely without incident. However, Jerry's PSA is steadily rising. Which is not good news! Jerry started on Intron A 18MIU/3ml solution injection 250K IU every night into the fatty tissue of his belly. So Jerry is back to 2 shots a night, along with an occassional shot of Arenesp. Jerry was happy to arrive home and learn that I has picked up some of his favorite pineapple sherbet ice cream. Jerry work up this morning and said his head was tingling and his tummy was not well (as usual).
